Hey Jim, Here's the project you were asking about. Hope you can read everything. It was my favorite project from Interior Design classes, and fun to see again.
We were given a 12' x 18' space (216 sq. ft) in which to design a complete living space, according to our individual needs. I was ambitious and wanted a full living space, including an art studio. Needless to say, most people came up with a simpler concept, such as a vacation getaway or treehouse. We were given some leeway in that a bathroom didn't have to fit inside the 12' x 18' footprint, although we had to show access to it. I added a very large wrap around deck, which was also allowed, since it wasn't considered part of the actual living space. There are windows under the kitchen cabinets that allow in light and slide open for passing things through to an outside wrap around counter. The kitchen is a little difficult to make out. There's a small refrigerator next to the stove, and a microwave oven over the stove.
The bed design was based on one I saw in a NW Portland apartment. The bed pulls out like a drawer from under a raised floor. A very efficient idea. The room divider above the bed is a closet accessed from the backside, in the art studio.
