graduating with honors from Portland State University in 2001. Going back to school renewed my creative energy and broadened my artistic vision.
Although I concentrated on painting in my studies, I continue to be drawn to photography. I find that my photography work has become more abstract, a direct influence from my painting. After an introduction to Adobe PhotoShop while studying at Portland Community College, I transitioned over to digital photography and now do all of my photo processing and printing on the computer.
I am very much interested in the process behind the art, and so am always eager to learn new techniques. My work has expanded to include the book arts, encaustic painting, and image transfer techniques that allow me to mesh photography with painting and graphic design.
Whether it’s my paintings or photographs, viewers often comment on how they are able to relate to my work on a very personal level, which I find extremely gratifying. For me, that's what it's all about.
I can best describe myself as a visual artist, working in a wide variety of media. Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, I moved to Oregon in 1987 and currently reside in McMinnville. In 1998, I went back to school to complete a BS in Art: Drawing, Painting, and Printmaking,
